Designers, Studio Equator, commissioned The Seatery to upholster banquettes over three floors of the main office for Acquire Learning located at 17-19 Hardware Lane, Melbourne.
The Seatery upholstered an island banquette of approximately 20 meters, which snakes around an indoor garden and has a unique podium seat above. The fabric chosen for the seat of the banquette is supplied by Materialised, in the design Vaggio and colour Jalepeno; whilst the fabric chosen for the  back is also supplied by Materialised, in the design Radiant. This banquette is 900mm high and 520mm wide.

 

In another room is the Study Pod, 3.5 m x 3.5m approx., which also has an element of difference with upholstered panels and curved walls above the banquette. The same fabric, supplied by Materialised in the design Eon and colour Omega, was used within the whole room. A 2 metre banquette was also upholstered in the meeting room in this same fabric.

Earlier this year The Seatery upholstered banquette seating for Acquire Learning’s six new stores, as part of an ongoing project for the organisation. These seats sit within twin booths and were upholstered in vinyl fabric supplied by Austex, in the design Studio Encore and colour Sorbet, a light orange. In December of last year The Seatery upholstered three metres of banquette seating for each of four Acquire Learning store locations. The seating was made up of one metre sections, butted up against each other and upholstered in vinyl supplied by Warwick, from the Lustrelle range, in the design Mondo and colour Orange.

The Seatery are recognised by Interior Designers, Shopfitters and Architects alike as expert upholstery craftsmen. They have been called upon to provide quality upholstery for seating, wall panelling, point of sale and counters for many iconic buildings, stores and places. Just a few of their achievements over the last few years are –

Citipower Building
The Seatery were commissioned to upholster one hundred metres of banquette seating for this building in Market Street, South Melbourne. Having commenced in 2014 the project is being completed in three stages. Fifty different types of fabric is being used, supplied by six fabric suppliers, to upholster the banquette seating to create different looks. There will be three types of banquettes –
•    Collaboration
•    Banquette
•    Hot Desk
The Shrine of Remembrance
When the iconic Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne refurbished it’s Visitors Centre it called upon The Seatery to upholster a large decorative panel 3 metres high by 8 metres long, The display is made up of 50 upholstered panels of various sizes, upholstered in New South Wales Leather in the colour red, which represents the poppy. This flower has come to represent the ANZACS  as it was the first flower to grow in the battle fields of northern France after the First World War finished.

Aesop’s Stores
The Seatery’s reputation for quality commercial upholstery led to Aesop’s stores commissioning them to supply upholstery in their stores in Myer, Melbourne and Myer, Birkenhead and stores in Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Sydney. Aesop store designs are genuinely inventive and beautifully crafted, with a meticulously considered design.
A sophisticated, luxuriant look has been fashioned by The Seatery with upholstered wall panels at point of sale for the Aesop store in Myer Melbourne. Upholstered in synthetic felt, in dark grey tones the panels are fixed to the wall with shelves and drawers, which are finished in the same fabric. The two panels measure1800mm x 600mm and 2200mm x 600mm. Wall panels for stores in Perth, Canberra and Sydney were upholstered in 6mm felt, elevated to create a looped effect in a blue/grey colour, reminiscent of denim. Each of these wall panels is 600mm wide in 3m drops.
Walls, cupboards and shelving unit drawer fronts were also upholstered for the Aesop store in Birkenhead in a wool fabric supplied by Warwick, in the design Augustine and colour Armour.

The Seatery are upholstering banquette seating for the second stage of the Health Inpatient Accommodation & Emergency Department development at the Echuca Regional Hospital located at 17 Francis Street, Echuca.  The development has been commissioned by the Victorian Government Department of Health with Architects Suters selected, who in turn contracted The Seatery to upholster seating in the Emergency Medical waiting room (E).  Six kidney shaped foyer seats, each two metres long, 450mm deep and 450 from ground to seat require upholstering along with thirty metres of banquette seats in various shapes and sizes. The banquettes are 850mm high and 450mm wide.  All seats are being upholstered in fabric supplied by Lainey’s in the design Nouveau in various colours including Claret, Jaguar, Sulphur and Pumpkin.

The Gladstone Park Hotel has existing banquette seating in the upper dining area that required re-upholstering so they called upon The Seatery, leading commercial upholsterers based in Melbourne, to do the upholstery. The banquette is four metres plus long and has a two tiered cushion back. It is  1300mm high in total and 450mm from ground to seat with the actual seat having a depth of 500mm. The fabric used to upholster the banquette was supplied by Warwick Fabrics in the design Lustrell and colour Shellac (gold).
The reputation of The Seatery has grown immensely over the last five plus years as they continue to provide such a high level of quality upholstery to retail, hospitality and corporate commercial clients. Their craftsmanship and professionalism in upholstering banquette and bench seating, wall panelling, point of sale, desks, shelving and fitting rooms has endeared them to Architects, Interior Designers and Shopfitters.

Upholstered desks, wall panels, banquette and bench seating for Rolex, Telstra and Bankwest

Architects Gray Pucksand commissioned The Seatery, leading quality commercial upholsterers, to upholster a reception desk and banquette seat for Rolex at level 7, 18 Oliver lane, Melbourne. The reception desk is 3.4 metres long by 1.2 metres wide and recessed from the front panel is 900mm high. It has small side panels which are 300mm wide and returns at the back, on the corners, measuring 100mm. The leather chosen to upholster the desk is imported from Italy and supplied by New South Wales Leather, in the design Monte Carlo that has a semi aniline finish in the colour grey. A banquette seat of 5.5 metres long is being upholstered on the seat only as it has a timber back. The seat is 900mm wide x 500mm deep and 450mm high from ground to seat and is divided into 9 sections. The fabric for the upholstery is being supplied by Instyle in the design Epic, a stripe pattern textile and colour View (green and charcoal tones).

Wall panels and a desk were upholstered for Telstra at Level 2, 242 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. The four Wall panels are attached to study shelving and were upholstered in fabric supplied by Woven Image in the design Soda, a recycled polyester, in the colour Cement (grey tones). The Seatery also upholstered a desk 2100mm long x 1200mm high in the same fabric.

A particularly comfortable bench seat in four sections was recently upholstered for Bankwest at Level 5, 600 Bourke Street, Melbourne. The bench seat is 3.650 metres long by 850mm wide by 450mm off the ground (to the seat). It has additional square pillows that sit atop the bench cushions. The seat is finished with cross stitching on the top of the seat with fluting on the front. The fabric was supplied by Kvadrat Maharam in the design Remix and colour #653, a woven fabric in soft red and grey tones. The stitch used is in a contrasting colour of wine berry red.  The cushions measuring 600mm long x 400mm wide x 100mm deep have been upholstered in fabric supplied by Kvadrat Maharam in the design Grid, colour pale blue.

The latest project for The Seatery is for FIIG, fixed income specialists working in the bonds markets. Architect Graypuksand commissioned The Seatery to upholster three metres of banquette seating in FIIG’s Melbourne office.  The banquettes are 1200m in height with luxuriant seats at 600 mm wide and a standard 450mm height from the ground to the seat. Fabric for the upholstery is supplied by  Kvadrat Maharam, in the design Coda2 and colour #762 (blue toned geometric pattern).  The seating has removable covers and features black cross stitching detail throughout on the seating cushion and the back, as well as piping detail. The fabric piping is supplied by Woven Image in the design Soda and colour #379 (black).  A slow release foam (LR) was used for the seats, which provides more comfortable seating as it springs back very slowly after weight is placed upon it.

The Seatery has also been busy upholstering seating for RMIT. The Head Contractor has called upon The Seatery to upholster two sections of banquette seating for the city campus, at 2.25metres long, 1200mm high and 500mm deep.  They are also supplying substrats for existing concrete seats, placing new boards and seating on the existing banquette and nook seating. The fabric for the upholstery is being supplied by Instyle in the design Classic, in the colour Beauty (red) for the seats and the colour Film (a black tone) for the backs.

More upholstery for RMIT is being undertaken by this leading commercial upholsterer, this time in building 16, level 2 of the city campus for Architects Odorisio & Stolfo. Nine metres of student lounge banquette seating is being upholstered, each one is 1200mm long with seats 500mm deep and 450mm height from the ground. Fabrics are being supplied by Warwick Fabrics in the design Lustrell Mondo and colour Smoke (charcoal grey) for the seats and design Orellana, colour Grass (green with yellow tones) for the backs.

Hospitality Seating Upholstered By Commercial Upholsterer For Japanese Restaurant and the Basement Bar

Ten metres of banquette seating was upholstered for the Bankara Ramen Japanese Restaurant by leading commercial upholsterers The Seatery at Westfield, Doncaster Shopping Town recently. This Japanese Restaurant specialises in ramen noodles and wishes their patrons to be comfortable whilst enjoying this particularly delicious Japanese cuisine. The banquette seating is in a horse shoe shape, squared across the top. It measures 1250mm high in total, being 450mm high from the ground to the seat and the seats are a luxuriant 500mm deep. The banquetts was upholstered In a vinyl material supplied by Baresque in the design Bubbles and colour Papaya, which is an orange tone with rust shades.

 

More hospitality seating is on the way with an order for a new job at the Basement Bar, which is located at 277 – 279 Flinders Lane, Melbourne. Thirteen metres of U shaped banquette seating is to be upholstered in a leather covering with the supplier, design and colour yet to be advised. The banquette will measure 900mm high in total, with the seat being 450mm from the ground and a very comfortable 550mm deep. The back will have a fluted detail, creating a stunning effect.

 

As well as commercial upholstery The Seatery also have a High End Residential service. They are currently creating a very special bedhead for the S&K Group for a high end residential project. The bedhead is 1900 mm wide by 1800mm high. It will be upholstered in a fine leather, to be supplied by the client, and finished with a stitch detail, both horizontal and vertical with a secret button at the cross points. The secret button effect is created by the stitching itself.
